Salawati graduated from MARA University of Technology (UiTM) with a Bachelor of Laws (Hons) and was admitted as an Advocate and Solicitor of the High Court of Malaya in March 2005. 

She handles property dealings and transactions for individuals and companies. In addition, she acts for banks and other financial institutions in respect of property loans and financing as well as for the property buyers. Occasionally, Salawati advises and acts for property developers.

Salawati speaks fluent English and Malay.
